On January 24th, 2019 took place the official start of the Erasmus+ project ODISSeA – Organ Donation Innovative Strategies for Southeast Asia. During the next 24 months, the project will join the efforts of 14 partners from Southeast Asia (SeA) and Europe to create a diploma in organ donation and train 280 SeA healthcare professionals in the field.
ODISSeA is project co-funded by the European Commission; that will create a specialized training for healthcare professionals in organ donation at the university level in Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines and Thailand. For the first time, 8 universities in the SeA region will offer a graduate course in organ donation, in compliance with the European High Education framework, equivalent to 30 ECTS and recognized by European universities.
The main aim of this meeting was to gather all the project partners for a general review of the project’s objectives, milestones and upcoming actions, as well as to engage in best practice exchange.
